Huerto de las Familia is a non-profit organization in Eugene, Oregon dedicated to alleviating poverty and hunger in low-income Latino families by helping them in growing their own food. The Small Farmer’s Project is a group of eight families who cultivate strawberries and raspberries on several acres of land in north Eugene for the purpose of growing entrepreneurial skills and providing a source of income. The Small Farmers Project came to designBridge expressing a need for a shed that could house a small tractor, fridge, packing facilities and a vending area, and could also be taken with the families when their lease is up and taken to the next plot of land. The project has just completed pre-design and is entering design development stages. If you would like to donate time, resources or volunteer please email designBridge for more information.
