The Moss St. Children’s Center wanted to integrate an outdoor classroom that incorporates music and natural processes like sun, wind, and rain into a fun learning opportunity within the outbuilding. The Sustainable Seeds and Sounds Shelter gives kids a place to make art outdoors during the rainy seasons. The “tune shed,” a percussion instrument that children can play and interact within the structure. Found objects, natural building techniques, and reused materials will be incorporated into the structure wherever possible to teach kids and “grown-ups” about responsible and progressive building techniques.
